Manning Community Mens Shed Social Evening with Dinner The MCMS Management Committee is organising a social evening with dinner at a Chinese/Malyasian restaurant. This is a 'user pay' event where members and their partners can participate. Venue: Bateman Chinese Eating House, Shop 6/22 Parry Avenue, Bateman 6150.   Date & Time: Wednesday, 18th Feb 2026, 7.00 pm Menu Entrée - Spring rolls, Loh Bak & Soup Mains - Special fried rice, Mee goreng, Malaysian chicken curry, Beef rendang, Golden king prawns, Sambal okra, eggplant & long beans Dessert - Fruit Cost per head - $ 35 (based on 30 pax) BYO - wine only (no corkage) Please respond to the email sent by Eric Goddard by 12.00pm Wednesday, 11th February 2026 if you (and your partner) are wishing to participate. Home Maintenance:  minor fixes You’re invited to a Free one day short course on how to fix things around the house.   What do you want to fix?  Come and ask us.  Are the cupboard doors not shutting? How does electricity work in Australia?  How do I stop my tap dripping? What is different about a hot tap?  My fly wire door needs new fly wire.   Which Tools do I need at the house? This course is aimed at people with limited English and new to Australia. Women are very welcome. There will be lots of hands on activities.     This workshop is funded by a Federal Government Stronger Community grant

MMS Management Committee invites members and spouses/partners to an evening at The Old Mill Theatre to enjoy a the play “Exit Laughing” on Friday 8th March 2024.  The play starts at 7.30PM.  The theatre is located Cnr Mends Street & Mill Point Road (opposite the Windsor Hotel). When the biggest highlight in your life for the past 30 years has been your weekly bridge night out with the "girls," what do you do when one of your foursome inconveniently dies? If you're Connie, Leona and Millie, three southern ladies from Birmingham, you do the most daring thing you've ever done. You "borrow" the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game, and the wildest, most exciting night of your lives involves a police raid, a stripper and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you're truly living.  MMS has reserved 30 tickets for Members and friends of the Men's Shed.  Cost per person is $21.  It is sure to be an enjoyable evening and tickets to all sessions of the play are selling fast so please reply asap.
